What does wealth mean to you?  It’s not simply net worth. 

Wealth is going to mean different things to different people.  For some, it’s the ability to pay bills and have a little left over for “stuff”.  For others, it’s having a huge bank account.  And, for some, it’s having a wealth of knowledge or family.  In other words, wealth is personal for each individual.

Most people think of wealth as a lot of assets and money.  But wealth is more than that.  It’s enrichment of self.  It’s having a loving family.  It’s the ability to volunteer to help others.

For me personally, I don’t consider myself financially wealthy, but I do think I’m comfortable.  I have enough income to pay my monthly expenses and am able to continue saving.  I put money in my emergency fund every month.  And, because I know my needs will be financially met, I sleep pretty well at night these days.

I also volunteer.  I help out my house of worship with anything they need that I can do.  I also volunteer to help senior citizens with their taxes every year.  It’s my way of giving back for the life lessons I have learned and gained from.

Have you thought about what wealth means to you?  It’s not just money.  Wealth includes the ability to have the life you want.  Whether it’s having a very close family, a big bank account, or the ability to volunteer to enrich the lives of others.  That could all be considered wealth.  So again I ask, what does wealth mean to you?
