If you need or want extra money, have you considered a side hustle? While I didn’t necessarily need the money, I wrote my book to help others who might be going through something similar to what I went through. I’m trying to pay it forward. But you might want to share something you enjoy, develop existing skills, or add to your financial future.

People seem to be freelancing more than anything else. They write, they do graphic design, they create web sites, and work in social media. There are online platforms like Fiverr and Upwork, that allow clients to locate experts in areas that fit their needs.

E-commerce has also progressed. People create and sell digital stuff all the time now. Things like e-books, online courses, etc. are available everywhere. And, the developer doesn’t have to concern themselves with holding on to inventory. When the designer uses social media to advertise, people can locate products and purchase them easily.

And, if you don’t have a creative bone in your body, you can still earn extra money. People do ride-sharing, delivery services, and local task-based services everywhere. I see ads for people who do snow plowing, lawn care, painting, gutter cleaning, etc. all the time. People also rent things like their vehicles, cameras, or extra rooms in their homes. In other words, they use what they already have to make extra cash.

Using social media apps like YouTube, TikTok and Instagram allows people to make money through the use of ads, sponsorships, or affiliate marketing. Remember, original content can allow whatever your niche is to grow steadily.

Additionally, if you have a knowledge-based specialty, use it to make money. If you can do tutoring, coaching, or consulting, you can make money. People are always looking for personalized help. Proficiency in things like fitness, education, finance, or business can offer premium pay and you can set your own schedule.

The bottom like for any side hustle to become profitable is to use your existing skills, what the market needs, and something you can scale over time. Start small! Track your results and reinvest your profits. You might be surprised at how successful you can become.
