Concert

I’m always looking for things to do and the past weekend, we did something that we haven’t done in a long time.  A friend of ours has a son who is the main singer in a band.  She invited us to join her and go to a concert where he was performing.  So, we did.

It was outdoors at a community carnival.  Admission and parking were free.  We took chairs, those kinds in a bag that you can sling over your shoulder, plenty of cold bottled water (it was hot out), and found ourselves a great place to view the stage.  We had a great time and enjoyed ourselves immensely.  The best part was that everything was free and we got to spend time with our friend.

What this goes to prove is that while you’re getting yourself in good financial shape, you don’t have to sit at home and look at the four walls that are surrounding you.  You can find thing to do that are enjoyable for little or no cost.  You can do things with your family as this was definitely a family event without spending a fortune.  Yes, if you did other things at the carnival, you would be spending but if you budget correctly, you can afford to spend money on things like cotton candy for the kids, or go on some of the carnival rides.  I do discuss budgeting for vacations and entertainment so you will want to review that section in my book.

So, look for some low cost or free entertainment this weekend and enjoy yourself with your family.
