Attitude Towards Money
What is your attitude towards money? Do you see it as a tool? Do you see it as a way to do retail therapy? Does money make you happy or sad? Does it make you secure or stressed? How do you feel when you have a few dollars in your pocket? Is it burning a hole or do you want to save it? Do you sleep at night or fret because of bills piling up?
Have you really ever thought about your attitude towards money? If not, maybe it’s time to think about it. Do you think debt is normal so running up your credit card is fine? Does “buy now, pay later” intrigue you? If so, perhaps it’s time to reflect on your relationship with the almighty dollar.
I know I’ve asked a lot of questions. Perhaps it’s time for you to ask yourself some of these and other questions. Your attitude towards money can affect your spending and budgeting results. It can also affect how you plan for today and tomorrow (such as retirement). And, you probably know that financial strains on a marriage are the #1 cause of divorce.
Moral of the story:
Perhaps it’s time to really think about your attitude towards money. It’s a relationship you need to examine, especially if there’s too much month at the end of the money. I see money as a tool to help me accomplish my goals. I plan for tomorrow while making sure I have enough for today.
